![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() My MX5200 was about $25K with FEL, tax exempt. His FEL controls don't seem as sensitive either. On the Mahindra, My best friend got one about 2 years ago and he has fuel leaks and hydraulic leaks already. You can do much more work with the extra traction and there's no comparison. One thing I'd recommend, settle for less HP if you must but get 4WD. Dragging loads is something that requires weight for traction. The lighter weight is good sometimes like on soft ground or when hauling with a half ton but it's a bad thing when trying to move something heavy like big tree trunk. It is lighter that many of the competitors but it is a compact tractor. When when they started it up to drive it on the float it sucked all that into the motor. I had stripped it down to the radiator and stuck some blue paper shop towels in the air intake to keep bugs and trash out. Called my dealer and they said they'd fix it all under my insurance. I now have a MX 5200 as I drove a limb through my radiator on my 5100. They look to be somewhat more stout than a Kubota and I like the way the front loader hooks up to the tractor so you can use it wothout an implement on the back for a counterweight. Saying that, I've looked close at the Mahindras and sure like what I see and hear folks buying them are happy. The fish farm has had a 45 hp 4 wd drive Kubota with a 5' mower, box blade and front loader for over ten years. I have used a lot of tractors over the years and so far the Kubotas I've had have been by far the best and easiest to operate. So what is your opinion / experience with a Mahindra ?Īlthough Mahindra is an Indian company, the smaller Mahindra tractors I see being sold around here are actually made in South Korea and assembled locally in Houston. Is that something to be concerned about with a tractor made in India? Evidently a really good tractor for its day, but they are no longer made and it can be difficult to find parts for. I have a Long 610 that was manufactured in Romania. I also saw they are the best selling tractor in the world right now. I researched and saw they are made in India, which actually makes me a little nervous. I have had several people recommend Mahindra. The John Deere's are nice but they are a little pricey and I actually think I like the Kubota's better. Been looking at the Kubota's and I like what I see. I posted earlier that I am looking at upgrading to a Kubota or John Deere. Once brought back to spec (this one is beyond spec) these tractors make great mowers. It has only a hundred miles on it and of course still runs strong. It is a rugged hard working UTV with plenty of power and speed. Property changed hands this year and I lost that gig. ![]() Handled clearing, maintaining and mowing that land for twenty years. The 4720 was next, I bought it over 20 years ago to handle a mowing gig I landed on 57 acres near the house. It has a 5' belly mount finish mower and a 5' dozer blade. The service guys all still admire it and it runs like new. It is kept in the garage and, as all my stuff, kept well maintained. We ought it 25 years ago when we moved out here. I have three, in order of age, a 445, a 4720, and an 825i. I once rented a fine Kabota and it was a great tractor. ![]()
